Nestlé Should Face Child Labor Disclosure Suit, Plaintiff Says

Nestlé USA Inc. should face claims that its failure to disclose ties between cocoa production and child and slave labor violates Massachusetts consumer protection law, a Massachusetts woman told the First Circuit.

The U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts dismissed Danell Tomasella’s suit in January.

But the district court didn’t acknowledge the extent of public concern about human rights abuses in producing goods, Tomasella said in a June 25 filing to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit.
