Specialty food maker Stonewall Kitchen LLC can’t dodge a Missouri man’s would-be class suit alleging its cupcake mix is deceptively labeled “all natural” (Murphy v. Stonewall Kitchen, LLC, 2016 BL 372071, Mo. Ct. App. E.D., No. ED104072, 11/8/16).
Daniel Murphy alleged the “natural” designation violated Missouri’s consumer protection law because the mix contained sodium acid pyrophosphate (SAPP), a chemical leavening ingredient.
