Molson Coors Suit Over Hard Seltzer’s Health Benefits Dismissed

A proposed class action brought against Molson Coors Beverage Co. over alleged misleading statements about the health benefits of the antioxidants in its Vizzy Hard Seltzer was voluntarily dismissed, court records indicate.

Joseph Wagner sued Molson Coors in July, alleging the company fortified its Vizzy products “with an insignificant amount of Vitamin C, and then blanketed the labels and advertising with statements” that touted the vitamin as being an antioxidant derived from the “superfruit” acerola. The complaint said the company capitalized on consumers’ growing desire for healthy food and drinks.
