Mitch ‘Wild Thing’ Williams, MLB Network Appeals End in Draw

Former major league baseball pitcher Mitchell “Wild Thing” Williams will retain a $1.5 million judgment against the MLB Network Inc. for his termination, a New Jersey appeals court ruled.

The trial court resolved the contract dispute “fairly and soundly,” the New Jersey Superior Court, Appellate Division, said March 14 in an unpublished decision.

Williams, who retired from baseball in 1997, pitched for the Philadelphia Phillies and other teams over his 11-year professional career. He began working as a broadcast baseball commentator in 2006 and joined the MLB Network in 2009, according to the decision.
