Microsoft Xbox One Controller ‘Phantom Input’ Lawsuit Dropped

Consumers who alleged that wireless Microsoft Corp.'s Xbox One controllers have a design defect that causes “stick drift” agreed to drop their lawsuit, according to federal court filings in Washington.

The plaintiffs alleged there was a design flaw in the controller’s potentiometer, which translates the user’s physical movement of the thumbstick into movement within a video game. The flaw causes the joystick to register “phantom input or stick drift, thwarting accurate gameplay,” according to the complaint.
