Method Hit With Suit Over ‘Natural’ Soaps

Method Products was hit with a would-be class suit by plaintiffs contending various “natural” soaps and cleaning products are made with synthetic ingredients (Richman v. Method Products, PBC, N.D. Cal., No. 16-05167, complaint 9/7/16).

Labels denoting a host of personal and household products as “natural” or “naturally derived” deceive purchasers, according to a Sept. 7 complaint filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California.

The company disputes the contention.

“In our opinion, there’s no merit to the claim we’re misleading consumers about our products being natural or naturally derived,” Method said in a statement ...
