Metal Plating Company Polluting San Francisco Bay, Suit Says

A metal plating company allowed excessive amounts of chromium, nickel, and other pollutants to pollute nearby waters through stormwater runoff, an environmental group said in a citizen suit in the Northern District of California.

San Francisco Baykeeper alleged Global Plating Inc. discharged polluted stormwater from its facility in Fremont, Calif., in violation of its permit. The company hasn’t complied with its permit’s requirements for monitoring pollutants, or its water quality standards, the group said in a complaint filed Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California.
