Mercedes-Benz Engine Class Settlement Receives Preliminary Court Approval

A proposed class settlement in litigation over certain Mercedes-Benz vehicles equipped with M272 or M273 engines has received preliminary approval (Seifi v. Mercedes-Benz U.S.A., LLC, 2015 BL 100028, N.D. Cal., No. 12-cv-05493-TEH, 4/8/15).

Judge Thelton E. Henderson of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California tentatively approved the agreement April 8. The settlement includes reimbursement for vehicle owners and lessees for incurred repair costs to replace allegedly defective balance shaft or idle gear parts in Mercedes’ M272 or M273 engines.
