Mazda Becomes Another Target in Denso Engine-Stall Litigation

Mazda Motor Corp. and partmaker Denso Corp. knew of a potentially dangerous defect in Denso’s fuel pumps but didn’t tell consumers about it, two vehicle owners say in a new proposed class action that follows similar suits against Toyota Motor Corp. and Honda Motor Co.

A component of the fuel pumps can deform and cause the engine to fail to start or to stall in use, Townsend Vance and Zachary Hayes say in their complaint, filed Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California.
