Mars Faces Suit Over Heavy Metal in Dove Dark Chocolate Bars (1)

Dove Bar maker Mars Inc. joins other confectioners facing litigation over alleged undisclosed heavy metals in dark chocolate, as a New York woman filed a proposed class suit saying certain bars contain dangerous levels of lead and cadmium.

Arlene Millman sued Thursday in the US District Court for the Eastern District of New York, alleging she bought “Dove Promises Deeper Dark Chocolate 70% Cacao” bars with the belief that she was getting a safe product.
