L’Oreal Must Face Class Suits Over Keratin Hair Products

New York and California consumers won class certification in suits alleging L’Oreal USA, Inc. and Matrix Essentials, LLC tricked them into thinking certain hair products contained keratin, a protective protein.

Brandi Price and Christine Chadwick alleged consumers overpaid for Matrix Biolage Keratin dose Pro-Keratin+ Silk Shampoo, Pro-Keratin+ Silk Conditioner, and Pro-Keratin Renewal Spray.

Class membership can be determined by objective criteria: whether an individual bought a product during the class period, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York said.
