LG Electronics Continues to Face Faulty-Fridge Fraud Claims

LG Electronics U.S.A. Inc. largely lost in a California federal court its bid to defeat consumers’ claims that it knew its refrigerators had a compressor defect before selling them.

Gary Sosenko and two other plaintiffs adequately allege, on behalf of a proposed California class, that LG was on notice of the defect, the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California said Aug. 29. They allege seven refrigerator owners complained to LG of failures before at least one of the plaintiffs bought an LG refrigerator, the court said.
