LG Chem Missouri Battery Sale Denials Fail to Halt Vaper’s Suit

An injured Missouri man may proceed with his suit against LG Chem Ltd. over an alleged e-cigarette battery explosion because the South Korea-based company fell short in fighting jurisdiction in his case, a federal court in the state ruled.

An LG Chem sales representative’s “carefully crafted statements” didn’t eliminate the possibility of a supply chain in which LG Chem served a consumer market for 18650 lithium-ion batteries in Missouri, Judge Stephen R. Clark said Thursday for the court.
