Lenovo Laptop Owners Win Initial Approval of Class Settlement

Laptop owners who alleged Lenovo (United States) Inc. knowingly sold defective 2-in-1 devices won preliminary approval of a proposed class settlement providing free repairs and cash payments.

The plaintiffs allege that certain Yoga and Flex computers, made with a flexible hinge system that allows them to function as either laptops or tablets, have a defect that causes the monitor display to flicker, freeze, black out, or display corrupted visuals.

Under the agreement, class members are eligible for free repairs and cash payments up to $100, and named class representatives would receive service payments of $2,000.
