LATAM Airlines Hit with Passenger Scalding Suit (1)

A flight attendant for LATAM Airlines Group S.A. served hot tea water on a flight from New York City to Ecuador that spilled and severely burned a passenger, a new lawsuit alleges.

The suit filed Nov. 23 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York is the latest against a major airline alleging airline employees injured passengers in serving hot coffee and tea in paper cups perched on seatback trays.

In the last year alone, passengers have filed a handful of such suits against major airlines, including Delta, Southwest, and Korean Airlines, according to Bloomberg Law ...
