Kroger Ground Coffee Makes Less than Canister Says, Suit Alleges

Kroger Co. systematically dupes consumers by overstating the number of cups its ground coffee products can make, a new proposed class suit in a California federal court alleges.

Canisters of numerous Kroger brand products include a prominent representation that they contain enough ground coffee to yield a specific number of servings, Amy Lorentzen says in a suit filed Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California.

If the back-panel brewing instructions are followed, however, the canister produces significantly less than advertised on the front, the suit alleges.
