Krispy Kreme Faces Frivolous Defense Hearing Over Truck Crash

A Georgia woman hurt when a Krispy Kreme Doughnut Corp. truck hit her car will get a new trial so she can argue the company maintained frivolous defenses, the Eleventh Circuit ruled April 29.

Galawezh Showan was stopped at a red light when Krispy Kreme driver Patrick Pressdee rear-ended her car, causing it to hit the vehicle in front of her, according to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. The accident allegedly caused her to have constant back, neck, and other pain, and she underwent disc surgery.
