Kinder’s ‘No Salt’ Seasonings Deceive Buyers, Class Action Says

Seasoning products from P.K. Kinder Co. advertised as “No Salt” trick consumers because they contain potassium chloride, a proposed class action alleged.

“There is no practical reason for false labeling and advertising of the Products other than to mislead consumers as to the presence of salt in the Products while simultaneously providing Kinder’s with a financial windfall,” according to the complaint filed Tuesday in the US District Court for the Northern District of California.

Lead plaintiff Mark Blosser alleged Kinder’s three spice blends under its “No Salt” line contain potassium chloride, a “well-known and well-documented salt” as a main ingredient. ...
