Kimberly-Clark Beats Suit Tying Diaper Rash to Huggies Chemical

Kimberly-Clark Corp. defeated a potential class action over a chemical in Huggies brand diapers after a New York federal court cited a lack of factual support for the plaintiff’s claims that the diaper was the cause of her son’s rash or that the company knew about the problem.

Heidy Morales claims a Huggies diaper caused her son to develop a persistent rash that required a a trip to the doctor and the use of a topical ointment. She attributed the problem to a chemical additive called Ahcovel used to boost the diaper’s absorption.
