JBS Tolleson Inc. was hit with the first lawsuit over a drug-resistant salmonella outbreak that has has sickened 57 people in 16 states.
Dana Raab, of Florence, Ky., alleges she was hospitalized with a drug-resistant strain of salmonella from ground beef that she purchased at a Sam’s Club in early September, according to the Oct. 5 complaint.
This is the latest outbreak in a year that has seen hundreds of people sickened by salmonella in shell eggs, chicken, turkey, breakfast cereal, pre-cut melons, coconut, chicken salad, kratom, and sprouts.
