J&J Wins St. Louis Talc Cancer-Link Trial After Three Losses

Johnson & Johnson stopped its losing streak in lawsuits alleging talcum powder causes ovarian cancer as a St. Louis jury rejected the claim of a Tennessee woman (Swann v. Johnson & Johnson, Mo. Cir. Ct., 1422-cc09326, 3/3/17).

J&J is accused in more than 3,000 lawsuits in state and federal courts in the U.S. of ignoring studies linking its baby powder and Shower-to-Shower talc products to ovarian cancer.

Friday’s verdict follows 2016 jury awards of $72 million, $70 million and $55 million in the first three talc claims to go to trial in St. Louis.
