Iovate Health Sciences USA has settled claims by two consumers who alleged it misled them into thinking its “Platinum 100% BCAA” workout supplement would promote muscle growth, according to filings in the Southern District of New York.
Tom Sabatano and Daniel Barzoloski filed a would-be class suit alleging the supplement purports to work through the consumption of three essential amino acids, the branched chain amino acids leucine, isoleucine, and valine. However, they alleged it lacked the other six essential amino acids necessary for muscle growth.
