HP Computer Buyer Says Company Draws Customers With Fake Sales

HP Inc. deceptively advertises false original prices and corresponding bogus savings to generate online sales of computer products, a Las Vegas man alleges in a proposed federal court class action.

Many computers are never sold at their advertised original, or reference prices; HP induces customers to buy its products based on a false impression of their value, Rodney Carvalho alleges in a suit filed Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California.
