Horizon Fitness Treadmill Horsepower Deception Suit Advances

Horizon Fitness treadmill maker Johnson Health Tech Trading Inc. and related companies can’t run away from a proposed class suit alleging they deceive consumers about the machines’ horsepower.

Wendy Prince says Horizon treadmills can’t reach and maintain their advertised continuous horsepower during in-home exercise because of household electrical limits and the treadmills’ onboard electrical circuit breaker.

Prince, who paid nearly $2,000 for her Horizon 7.8 AT Treadmill, sued in the US District Court for the Western District of Virginia on behalf of a nationwide class and a Virginia subclass.
