Honeywell Loses Second Bid to Flip $5.8M Asbestos Verdict

Honeywell International Inc. is a step closer to paying $5.8 million on an asbestos exposure jury verdict after the California Supreme Court declined to hear its claims that the trial was flawed (Phillips v. Honeywell Int’l Co., Cal., No. S241544, petition for review denied 6/14/17).

The state’s top court on June 14 denied without opinion Honeywell’s petition to review a March 17 ruling by a California Court of Appeals in favor of mechanic James Phillips, who died of mesothelioma in 2013.
