Honda Owners’ $1.4 Million Verdict in Engine Rattle Case Upheld

American Honda Motor Co. must pay $1.4 million to vehicle owners for failing to disclose a faulty engine part, after the Ninth Circuit on Friday rejected the parties’ cross-appeals.

The consumers alleged Honda’s defective VTC actuator that caused an engine rattle, and brought suit on behalf of three classes of buyers. The two sides each unsuccessfully appealed multiple issues.
