Honda Odyssey Shifting Defect Claims Advance on Second Try

Consumers alleging two defects in Honda Odyssey transmission systems may proceed with some claims against American Honda Motor Co. over one alleged defect and may replead other claims, a federal court in California said after throwing out an earlier complaint for lack of detail.

Four of the minivan owners failed to state claims on behalf of themselves and Michigan and Ohio subclasses in the proposed multistate and nationwide class suit, Judge Beth Labson Freeman said March 18 for the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California.
