Honda Loses Bid to Undo $26 Million Judgment Over Van Seat Belt

A paralyzed woman presented sufficient evidence of a seat belt defect at her trial against American Honda Motor Co. to support a jury verdict and $26 million judgment in her favor, the Texas Court of Appeals ruled.

A video study of 53 people attempting to use the seat belt in a similar Honda third-row middle seat was properly admitted, even though it wasn’t conducted by an expert, Justice Bill Pedersen III said Nov. 24 for the appeals court.
