High Court Should Allow Ford Injury Suits, Scholars Say (1)

Court decisions allowing accident victims to sue Ford Motor Co. in the states where the accidents occurred should stand, even though the cars were first sold elsewhere, several law professors told the U.S. Supreme Court.

Recent Supreme Court cases have “given large business defendants an unjustified forum-shopping advantage over plaintiffs,” four scholars said Thursday in a friend-of-the-court brief supporting the plaintiffs.
