Hawaii Milk Suppliers Trim Deceptive Origin Advertising Claims

Meadow Gold Dairies Hawaii LLC and some of its suppliers convinced a federal judge their use of certain Hawaii-themed images and phrases weren’t misleading, but the suppliers were denied judgment on claims they deceptively advertised the products’ origin.

The Hawaii Foodservice Alliance LLC had waited too long to bring claims based on MDH’s use of a Lani Moo mascot, its “Hawaii’s dairy” tagline, and its representations of a historical connection with the state’s Dairymen’s Association, the US District Court for the District of Hawaii had previously said, granting partial summary to MGDH.
