Harley-Davidson Sues Online Purveyors of Fake Merchandise

Online merchants in China and other nations are willfully violating U.S. trademark laws and injuring Harley-Davidson Inc. by selling inferior and unlicensed merchandise to unsuspecting consumers, a new lawsuit alleges.

The April 3 complaint, filed by H-D USA LLC against a sealed list of online retailers, is the latest in a trend seeking to quell web-based purveyors of fake goods that cost U.S. manufacturers billions of dollars annually.
