Google Violated California Privacy Law, Users Say in Appeal Bid

A proposed class suit against Google LLC for allegedly tracking users without their consent presents complex, novel issues under California privacy law that demand immediate resolution by an appeals court, the plaintiffs told a federal court in the state Monday.

The U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California dismissed all the claims in the geolocation privacy suit Dec. 19. It gave the would-be class representatives permission to re-plead claims under the California constitution and common law, however, and didn’t enter a final judgment.
