GNC Sued Over Grenade Weight Loss Supplement

General Nutrition Corp. and manufacturer Grenade USA LLC were hit with a proposed class suit by an Illinois man who alleged he nearly died after using the weight-loss supplement Grenade-Thermo Detonator.

GTD is touted as a weight-loss product that targets fat and preserves lean muscle, Jay Rossi alleged in a Feb. 27 suit in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.

But the product contained bitter orange extract and yohimbe bark, unsafe ingredients that caused his adverse reaction, he alleged.
