GM Truck, SUV Owners Pull Airbag System Suit Just After Filing

Eight consumers from seven states are dropping claims against General Motors LLC over a computer module in trucks and SUVs blamed for safety issues, at least for now, they told a federal court in Michigan.

The vehicle owners alleged that the airbag and seatbelt control system prevents proper deployment in prolonged crashes. Their voluntary dismissal Aug. 13, with a chance to re-file, comes just over a week after they filed the 171-page complaint in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan.

An attorney for the plaintiffs didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.
