GM Plaintiffs Raise Viable Airbag Defect Claim in Latest Try

General Motors Co. vehicle owners’ latest complaint offered enough detail about an alleged flaw in the airbag deployment systems in certain trucks and SUVs, a federal court said in advancing their proposed class suit.

James Milstead and others sued GM in the US District Court for the Northern District of California. An earlier version of the complaint was dismissed for inadequately defining a defect across class vehicles but the current version corrected those pleading deficiencies, Judge Jon S. Tigar said Nov. 3.
