GM Plaintiffs Entitled to Final Judgment on Class Trial Verdict

A federal court said it will enter final judgment against General Motors LLC based on a jury verdict awarding $2,700 each to drivers in three statewide classes who alleged certain trucks had an engine flaw that caused them to guzzle oil.

GM isn’t entitled to post-trial proceedings on whether individual absent class members had notice of possible claims, which the auto giant argued could make their claims untimely, the US District Court for the Northern District of California said Thursday.
