GE Appliances sold refrigerators with a defective part that prevented the fridges from staying cold, consumers say in a new class action.
Debbie Blurton and Travis O’Brien say their fridges stopped working due to broken compressors about two years into the devices’ expected 10-year lifespans, according to the complaint filed April 4 in the US District Court for the Western District of Kentucky. Both Blurton and O’Brien say they had to pay about $1,000 dollars to fix or replace their fridges.
They seek to represent a nationwide class of consumers as well as California and Virginia subclasses.
