Ford Motor Co. won final approval Oct. 18 for a nationwide class action settlement covering 2011-16 Ford Fiesta and 2012-16 Ford Focus vehicles with PowerShift transmissions (Vargas v. Ford Motor Co., C.D. Cal., No. 2:12-cv-08388, final approval 10/18/17).
The class settlement in the Central District of California offers plaintiffs with affected cars between $600 and $2,325 in cash, or as much as $4,650 toward a new vehicle. Alternatively, plaintiffs can pursue repurchase of their existing vehicles through an arbitration process.
