Ford Must Face Suit Over Alleged Emissions Warranty Denial

A lawsuit alleging that Ford Motor Co. violated California emission regulations survived the company’s motion to dismiss, a judge decided Wednesday.

California law mandates special warranty coverage for a vehicle’s emission control system. Hugo De Anda sued Ford on behalf of a putative class in the US District Court for the Central District of California alleging that Ford denied coverage of transmission repairs that the California-required emissions warranty should have covered.
