Ford Inflated Fuel-Efficiency Numbers, Class Suits Say

Ford Motor Co. has been hit with a proposed class action over allegedly inflated fuel-efficiency ratings for some vehicles, the latest in a new raft of suits following news of a government probe.

Tracey Travis alleges Ford “deliberately misrepresented or miscalculated” testing on several models, particularly the 2019 Ford Ranger truck, “in order to report that its vehicles used less fuel and emitted less pollution than they actually did.”

The F-150 pickup truck and other models may also be affected, Travis said June 4 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan filing.
