Ford Asks SCOTUS to Review Ruling Over Car Resold in New State

Ford Motor Co. asked the U.S. Supreme Court to undo a Minnesota top court decision requiring it to face suit in Minnesota by a state resident who allegedly suffered a brain injury caused by a defective airbag in a car first sold in another state.

A divided Minnesota Supreme Court said Adam Bandemer’s claims arose out of or related to Ford’s contacts with Minnesota, citing the automaker’s sales and marketing efforts in the state.
