Fiat Chrysler Tire-Pressure Claims, Would-Be Class Rep Tossed

A would-be class representative, and his claims over tire pressure valves in some FCA US LLC minivans, were thrown out Wednesday by a federal court in New York.

Thomas Hromowyk can’t represent the proposed class, as a sanction for evidence spoliation—allowing the valve stems in his minivan to be removed and altered or destroyed, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of New York said.

And his own claims were untimely, the court said.

Hromowyk alleged the valve stems in his 2010 Dodge Caravan’s tire pressure monitoring system failed, and said the automaker concealed the alleged defect.
