FEMA Trailer Settlements Total Over $42M, Filings in Federal Formaldehyde MDL Show

Hurricane refugees disclosed that their proposed class settlement of formaldehyde-exposure claims with manufacturers of FEMA trailers totals $37.5 million, and said they have agreed to settle their claims against 15 trailer installers and other contractors for more than $5.1 million, according to documents filed in federal court May 29 and May 30.

“There are some minor claims that are still left—I’d say 98 to 99 percent of the litigation now is settled,” Justin I. Woods, an attorney for the plaintiffs, told BNA May 29.
