Ex-NFL Players’ Drug Claims Against League Tossed

Former NFL players alleging they were given painkillers to get them back on the field at the expense of their long-term health have no case against the National Football League, a federal court in California ruled.

The April 18 decision dealt a severe blow to ex-players who say the league, through team doctors and trainers, indiscriminately and negligently administered controlled substances to them in violation of state and federal drug laws.
