EPA Answers Queries About Ban of Pesticide Chlorpyrifos in Food

The EPA released answers to questions it received since August when it banned the pesticide chlorpyrifos in food and will release more guidance before the ban takes effect, agency officials said Monday.

Dana Friedman, a branch chief in the Environmental Protection Agency’s pesticide office, and Alexandra Feitel, a chemical review manager in that same office, updated state pesticide regulators on actions the agency has taken since issuing a final rule in August that forbade even tiny residues of the pesticide in food effective Feb. 28, 2022.
