The Sierra Club and other environmental groups want the Ninth Circuit to review the Environmental Protection Agency’s recently issued standards for “dust lead,” including a decision not to change the definition of lead-based paint.
The standards determine whether hazards exist “in homes, child-care facilities, and surrounding soil,” the groups say in a statement. “But the standards the Trump administration unveiled are too lax to protect families,” they said.
The groups seek review of the July 9 rule, “Review of the Dust-Lead Hazard Standards and the Definition of Lead-Based Paint,” in a one-paragraph petition.
