Edison Reaches $360 Million Deal Over 2017, 2018 Fires (1)

An Edison Internationalunit reached a $360 million settlement with local government agencies that were harmed by blazes its equipment allegedly ignited in southern California over the last two years.

The deal between Southern California Edison and 23 public entities resolves taxpayer losses over the Thomas and Woolsey wildfires that raged in the Los Angeles area in 2017 and 2018, as well as the smaller Koenigstein fire, according to the company and a law firm representing the cites, counties and other public entities.
