Dollar General Deceptively Markets Infants’ Pain Drug, Suit Says

Dollar General Corp. and related companies allegedly trick buyers of “infant” pain relief products into thinking their children can’t safely use the cheaper “children’s” medicine, a new would-be class suit in a Florida federal court says.

The discount retailer distributes its own brand of acetaminophen pain reliever and fever reducer under the “DG” label. Although the medications contain the same concentration of active ingredient, the “infants” products cost approximately three times more than “children’s” products for the same amount of medicine, the suit in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida alleges.
