Dole Hit With Would-Be Class Suit Over Salad Kits

Dole Fresh Vegetables Inc. falsely touts its bagged salad kits as “All Natural” despite the inclusion of synthetic and potentially dangerous ingredients, according to a proposed consumer class suit filed March 21 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California (Wallerstein v. Dole Fresh Vegetables Inc., N.D. Cal., No. 13-1284).

Dole’s representation on the front of the salad bags that the products contain “No Artificial Preservatives” similarly misleads consumers, named plaintiff Traci Wallerstein alleges.
