Disney, Viacom Kids’ Gaming App Privacy Deals Get Early Nod

A group of kids’ privacy class settlements calling for Walt Disney Co., Viacom International Inc., and others to change data collection practices and improve children’s privacy protection got tentative approval from a California federal court.

The injunctive relief agreements are fair, reasonable, and adequate, Judge James Donato of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California said Thursday.

The 16 settlements stem from three children’s privacy suits involving the Subway Surfers, Disney Princess Palace Pets, Where’s My Water, and Llama Spit Spit apps.
